Sun 6/28: Lux Wins Pair from Langley

Lux 8 Langley 0 :   The Blaze of Langley BC visited BCC this morning for a DH vs Lux.  In the opener, sophomore Obi Taylor pitched a gem in a shut out victory for Lux 8-0. Taylor scattered 6 hits on the day striking out 6 and walked none going the distance on 73 pitches.  Offensively, Jordan Sui, Mitchell Gunsolus, Erick Raynes and Pat Barlow each had multi-hit games for Lux.

Lux 5 Langley 4 :   Lux & Langley battled in a tight affair in Game 2 with Lux scoring 3 in the 7th to win 5-4. Lux was led by starter Erick Raynes who pitched 5 solid innings making one costly mistake. Langley and Lux were knotted 1-1 into the 4th when the Blaze 4-hitter homered giving Langley a 4-1 lead. Lux scored 1 in the 6th when Marc Dickerson's 2 out single plated Raynes who had previously singled and reached 3rd on an error. Jake Reppert relieved Raynes and threw 2 solid frames for LB not allowing a hit and striking out two.  In the Lux 7th Mitch Gunsolus and John Shimabukuro both singled with one out. AJ Morrow doubled to left scoring Gonzo.  Matt Shafer lined out to the 1st baseman leaving it to Patrick Barlow. Paddy hit a high chopper to short and hustled down the line prompting a hurried throw that sailed high. Both Shimmi and Morrow scored and to give Lux the 5-4 win.

Sat 6/27: A Day at the Races - Lux Splits DH

Lux Routs Dodgers 11-4     In the opener this afternoon at BCC the Lux club took on the Seattle Dodgers.  Sean Gilman was the starter and pitched another outstanding ball game - his 5th quality start in as many outings. Gilman spread 5 hits and 3 runs over 6 innings of work enroute to the victory. Marc Dickerson continued his destruction of Dodgers pitching as he banged another ball off the left centerfield scoreboard for a home run. John Shimabukuro and Obi Taylor each had a pair of hits as 8 of 9 Lux starters hit safely in this one despite a couple regulars out with illness.

Bank Boat Races LB Squad in Back-End        Lux played poorly in all aspects of the 2nd game of the day and Bank took full advantage. Several Lux errors, a couple sun balls and poor base running was fatal.  Bank scored in all but 1 inning on several extra base hits at opportune times and even took home on a wild pitch to end the affair.
